JORD JHAROAH B. VALENTON earned his Bachelor of Laws Degree in San Beda University in 2001. With a grade of 87.1%, he ranked 16th in the List of Topnotchers in the Philippine Bar Exams he took on the same year.

He finished his Master of Laws also at San Beda University, with a thesis on Mining and Environment. He further went to Harvard University School of Law for the Executive Education Program on Mergers and Acquisitions. He likewise was at the London, England campus of Boston University School of Law for the Summer Legal Institute Program on U.S. Corporate Law and International Business Agreements. He still further completed with satisfaction a one-year course on Trust Operations and Investment Management.

Atty. Valenton finished other programs, such as the Training Program in 2020 on Competition Law and Policy and the Environmental Law Program in 2021. He further completed the Masterclass in Law School Management administered by the Legal Education Board from 16 to 18 June 2025.

Atty. Valenton was in St. Vincent's Seminary for 8 years. He graduated Salutatorian and Magna Cum Laude thereafter.

He was tapped as a legal expert by the inter-government agency Mining Industry Coordinating Council for phases 1, 2, and 3 of the review of mining operations in the Philippines in accordance with Executive Order No. 79.

As a litigator, he successfully handled the Maguindanao Massacre case as well as graft cases involving government officials, such as the PDAF and Helicopter Scams. He likewise successfully prosecuted his client’s cause before the Supreme Court in the Colmenar Case, where the new rules of civil procedure was first discussed, as well as in the landmark case of Knutson vs. Knutson, where the Supreme Court En Banc granted for the first time a petition for the issuance of a protection order in favor of a child against her own mother.

Atty. Valenton is a member and trained arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Chapter) and the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc.. He is a member of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators and the Society of Construction Law Philippines.

He currently is the Dean of the School of Law of Pampanga State University. He was the Dean of the University of Makati School of Law from June 2022 to November 2025.

Atty. Valenton also teaches in several other law schools. He regularly conducts lectures to lawyers under the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Program of the Supreme Court and to Bar Examinees under different Bar Review Programs.

He authored the law book, “Personal Property Security Act and the Relevant Laws and Jurisprudence on Credit, Property, Insolvency, and Procedure”, as well as the article, “The Philippines: Towards Inclusive And Sustainable Growth” published in 2016 in the International Financial Law Review Magazine, United Kingdom.

Atty. Valenton is involved in socio-civic endeavors through, among others, his being a director and treasurer of Club Filipino, Inc., a trustee and corporate secretary of Vincentian Missionaries Social Development Foundation, Inc., a director and corporate secretary of Bellagio 3 Homeowners’ Association, Inc., as well as a past president of the San Beda Law Golf Club, Inc.
